Washington, DC – Friday, August 26, 2022 – A group of 26 organizations shared their support for the policy framework finalized by the House Republican Energy, Climate and Conservation (ECC) Task Force last week as part of their Commitment with America. In a letter to Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and ECC Lead Garret Graves (R-LA) the organizations stated:
“The climate is changing. Understanding the challenge is key, and it is encouraging to see you coming together to develop real solutions. As you know, efforts should not damage America’s economy especially during this period of high inflation and geopolitical instability. Your policy framework recognizes these realities, and is good for the environment, American workers and families, and global competitiveness.”
The ECC Task Force created an agenda that is built on the proven success of conservative energy policies that will reduce carbon emissions while increasing productivity of American energy. Details of their six point plan are included here. The six key issue areas:
- Unlock American Resources
- American Innovation
- Let America Build
- Beat China and Russia
- Conservation with a Purpose; and
- Build Resilient Communities
“By encouraging more clean energy innovation, modernizing permitting requirements, unleashing American resource independence, making communities more resilient and using natural solutions, America can continue to lead the world in reducing global emissions while growing jobs and the economy,” wrote the organizations.
