June 24, 2021 – LANSING, Mich. – The Conservative Energy Network (CEN), a coalition of 21 state-based conservative clean energy organizations, today celebrates the passage of the Growing Climate Solutions Act (S. 1251) in the United States Senate. The measure passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, 92-8.

The Growing Climate Solutions Act was sponsored by Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) and co-sponsored by 24 other Senate Republicans. This bill empowers America’s farmers and agricultural producers to voluntarily participate in sustainable, clean farming practices while solidifying a thriving American agriculture industry for generations.

“We are thrilled by the passage of the Growing Climate Solutions Act in the Senate,” said Mark Pischea, president and CEO of CEN. “The support of half the Republican Senate Conference as co-sponsors of this bill is a clear indication that Republican leaders are engaged and eager to provide conservative energy and climate solutions.”

As climate change is being discussed at all levels of society, CEN applauds the work of Congressional Republicans to promote conservative climate policies. The passage of the Growing Climate Solutions Act comes just one day after the unveiling of the House Conservative Climate Caucus, which includes 55 House Republicans.

Recent polling by CEN has found that 68% of voters are more likely to support a candidate who embraces innovation-based approaches to addressing climate change. CEN believes policies that champion home-grown innovation and provide all technologies with fair access to markets will accelerate the transition to a clean energy future and secure America’s global economic leadership.
