Conservative Energy Network Brings State Leaders to D.C. to Focus on Building American Energy Dominance

June 19, 2025 – WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, leaders from the Conservative Energy Network (CEN), joined by representatives from its state affiliates in Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, and Pennsylvania convened in Washington with a focused message for Congress: America needs to build energy capacity fast, and abandoning proven energy tools like solar, wind, and storage will jeopardize our ability to dominate in the global economic race.

The fly-in, timed as budget negotiations intensified, was a direct call to protect the tools necessary to achieve President Trump’s reindustrialization agenda, win the AI race, and bury China under the weight of U.S. economic might.

“If we’re serious about reshoring manufacturing, leading in AI, and reasserting U.S. energy dominance, then we must use every rapid-deployment energy source available,” said CEN CEO John Szoka. “That includes solar and wind. When made in America, they are weapons of economic strength and national security.”

During their 23 Capitol Hill meetings, the coalition urged lawmakers to ensure the continuity of energy policies that fuel job growth, strengthen grid resilience, and keep America competitive. Without certainty, they warned, the market hesitates and leadership in the global energy economy slips.

“This is about policy certainty, not politics,” said Hunter Jones, executive director of the Indiana Conservative Alliance for Energy. “Congress must provide investors and developers with the clarity they need to build fast, build domestic, and build American.”

The fly-in showcased a uniquely conservative perspective: that clean energy and free markets are not mutually exclusive. Rather, when guided by clear rules and limited government intervention, conservative clean energy policies can unleash private-sector dynamism and position the U.S. as a global energy powerhouse.

State delegations met with include Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
