July 23, 2024 – LANSING, Mich. – The Conservative Energy Network (CEN) applauds the introduction of the Energy Permitting Reform Act of 2024 by Senators John Barrasso (R-WY) and Joe Manchin (I-WV). The following statement can be attributed to John Szoka, CEN CEO:
“In the face of surging energy demand, leaders from both parties recognize the urgent need to reform our nation’s energy strategy. This bipartisan policy would cut regulatory red tape and enable America to build the energy generation and transmission capacity needed to ensure a secure, reliable, affordable, and clean power grid. Streamlining federal permitting processes is a step toward restoring American energy leadership. This policy will allow the energy industry to invest in our economy, build critical infrastructure, and create American jobs. It is our sincere hope that Congressional leaders give the Energy Permitting Reform Act the attention it deserves.”
Previous polling from CEN has found that 62% of voters support cutting regulations and red tape that slow energy development. This includes 67% of Republicans and 62% of Independents.
