September 30, 2022 – LANSING, Mich. – The Conservative Energy Network (CEN) applauds the United States Senate for passing Senate Resolution 794 which recognizes September 26-30, 2022 as National Clean Energy Week (NCEW). The resolution is bipartisan in nature with 9 Republican co-sponsors and it passed with unanimous consent.
NCEW is an annual event, founded by the Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) to celebrate energy policies, industries, and innovations that power our lives with little or no carbon emissions. During this sixth annual National Clean Energy Week, CEN state teams are celebrating local examples of clean energy innovation that employs millions of Americans and powers many local economies.
“CEN is a proud sponsor of the 2022 National Clean Energy Week,” said Brittany Zwierzchowski Tisler, CEN COO and interim CEO. “It is heartening to see the Senate come together in a bipartisan manner to recognize National Clean Energy Week and the clean energy future that a large majority of Americans want to see. This support of NCEW reaffirms the proclamations and resolutions signed by dozens of governors and state and local officials across the country.”
Nationwide polling conducted by CEN has consistently demonstrated strong bipartisan support for a clean energy future. The most recent survey found that 83% of Americans support the government taking action to accelerate the development and use of clean energy in the United States with nearly two-thirds of voters supporting the employment of competition and market-based strategies to achieve that future.
